I'm Finished!!!

Well I am finally finished with Job Corps, in a month I will be making my way back to Pittsburgh and hopefully by the grace of God I will get a job so I can move on with the next chapter of my life. In other news I am considering starting another blog. Why you ask, well simple really, on this blog I let you guys know what's going on in my life and spiritual stuff, but God has also given me a natural talent and passion for technology. So I don't want to confuse my current audience with a lot of techno-babble I will keep this blog for life updates and spiritual stuff and will start another blog for technology for those who care. I am also starting it because I read a lot of tech blogs about people views on technology, But I believe God has something to say about technology as well, so it is my intent to talk about technology in the light of God's truths. So I will let you know when it's all set up, in the mean time please pray for me as I look for work, I sent out some resumes today and already got some responses, but the battle is just starting I need to trust that God will provide for me as he has always done.

It's been awhile.

Sorry I haven't posted the pictures yet, I keep forgetting to ask for them. Anywho I am almost done with my schooling, I will (hopefully) take my final test this week and I ask that you'll pray for me to pass the test so I may move on with my life. I just can't wait to be living in my own apartment again, cooking my own food, and actually be on Facebook and talk to my friends with instant messaging. I also ask that you pray that I will be able to find work when I come back to Pittsburgh so I wouldn't be a burden to my friends.

Well thats all for now,
Joshua Powers

Long time to see.

I know it's been awhile, but I have been a busy dude.

Anywho here's the skinny on what's been happening. The biggest is God has answered my prayers to go on a mission trip, next week me and some of the men from the church are going to Blue Berry Mt. Bible Camp where we will help fix the place up and build the kids a tree house. Next up, and get ready for this shocker, I have given up on Linux to use windows fill time, quick someone perform CPR on Andy. The biggest reason is that while Linux may be more secure, stable, and "immune to viruses" it lacks vendor support, which is why almost 90% of the computer using world sticks with Windows despite the Vista fiasco. The short of it in my profession my job will require I run windows programs and use windows on a daily basis and in my personal life I need a very good Internet filter on my computer and only Windows and Macs have that kind of filter. The filtering options for Linux works only if the user is not a computer savvy person, so for me in Linux I could by pass the best filters Linux has to offer in my sleep. Anywho in the long run I am still debating weather or not to have internet in my apartment at all, if not I will just get a Windows Netbook and just use it at public wi-fi spots like the library or star-bucks. It has to be windows based still because I need to install the filter on it in the off chance I need to stay over night in a hotel while on business with my netbook. Also another reason I switched back to windows is because I have been testing the new windows 7 the will release to general public on oct. 22, 2009 and it rocks, while it doesn't really offer anything to the happy windows xp users other than slick bling, If you are unfortunate enough to have Windows Vista, then you will want to upgrade to Windows 7 as soon as possible, it's that good. Also I am almost done with my time at Job Corps, I have finished my last book and now I just have to spend the next few weeks preparing for the exam and once that's done, I will start making plans to come back to Pittsburgh, Pa where I plan on starting my life. Well thats all for now.
